About Deeside Kilts Ltd

Based in the heart of Royal Deeside, situated at the foothills of the great Cairngorm Mountains, and known as the gateway to Royal Deeside and the Highlands, we were amazed to find out that there seemed to be no dedicated Highland Wear outlet within miles of the area. 

Like many other folk, after finding themselves sitting at home throughout most of  the crazy year of 2020 and then into 2021, we decided to take the opportunity to make a change in career direction and create Deeside Kilts Ltd to provide the local and surrounding community with a competitive and quality highland menswear retailer within the area. 

We hope that, in some small way, our commitment can provide a good quality service to our community and they, in turn, will help support us with our future venture.

Although the Deeside Kilts Team are a family-run business, we are, and always will be kilt wearers first. We understand the importance of looking and feeling good while wearing the Kilt. 

We are a NON judgemental service and although our team all enjoy a laugh and a joke when appropriate, making people feel comfortable in our facillities is what is most important to us, whether in a kilt or not!

That said, we take our kilting very seriously and are always aware that so often, the events you are attending in our national dress , will be of the upmost importance to you!

We prioritise accurate sizing, good organisatio and prepared time management. We find that the most successful bookings come from good planning from all parties. We always ensure that every hire will be given adequate time for an in-store fitting before your event. Do not leave it until the last minute!

The Deeside Kilts vision is always to promote the tradition of wearing of our countries national dress, we and make it our mission to ensure that every customer who recieves a garment from Deeside Kits Ltd leave the shop representing our culture in the CORRECT way!

We solely use 100% wool woven in Scotland, Ireland and the UK,  and Our Kilts are all Handmade in Scotland by an award winning seamstress who has worked for the likes of Kinloch Anderson - who previously held the Royal Appointment. A kilt fit for a King.

To compliment our various Highland outfits we also sell a wide range of kilt wear accessories. Our large range of Jackets, Waistcoats, Artisan Sporrans, Kilt Pins, Brogues etc are all available to purchase with your bespoke kilt outfit. 

We deal with all of the major mills and tailors in Scotland so if there is anything you are after we can help create the outfit of your dreams. There is just about no extent to the detailling available, and nearly of all garments allow for full bespoke designs made to your exact requirements.

Deeside Kilts Ltd have various items that can be offered as thank you gifts to groomsmen and bridal party memberss, in line with good Scottish traditional practice. 

We are able to supply various gift and unique mentos for your special day, and can even organise engraving items so your favourite people can always remember the special occasion. We can just about make anything in you'd like in your desired Tartan.

Of course if you have something specifically in mind and its not in stock we are always pleased to discuss and advise on any items or gifts that you feel you may like to purchase.

Here at Deeside Kilts we know how really time consuming this can be, but as we are regularly involved in buying items for our own uses, we may be able to assist within our supplier distribution network.

Tell us what your looking for and we will spend the time tracing the  information or the article for you - if we are successful in finding what your looking for we can agree a small percentage commission to cover our efforts - and if we don't find it,  it'll cost you nothing !

To compliment our range of services we are also able to offer an experienced Bagpiper for your special occasion, be it your wedding or any other private function. Lee Taylor, a well know local wedding piper, is available to provide a full repertoire of traditional tunes to entertain your guests at the function. He is a very accomplished musician who has been playing since the age of five and after studying at the National Piping Centre in Glasgow, under some of the more prominent piping community masters, he has returned home to the Deeside area to run his own business and immerse himself into the traditional values of the art. 

A competent Bagpiper, Small Piper, Guitarist, Irish Whistle and Flute player he is able to provide a full evening of entertainment on all instruments. Along with his many contacts within the Trad music scene he is also able to arrange full band arrangements for private functions or evening entertainment. And we are able to offer special rates for weddings where our clients proceed to order hire highland wear with us.  Within the shop we also have a range of Bagpipe associated supplies, including modern and vintage instruments, peripheral equipment and spare parts. 

We can provide Bagpipe maintenance from our allocated workshop to fit any of your Bagpipe related issues, be it a full set-up of your instrument, desired repairs, reeds and bag fittings or just a good clean up and professional polish to get your instrument looking, but more importantly - feeling - healthy and good to play. 

There is no substitute for good GHB maintenance and having it done correctly is the key to better playing. Don't hesitate to get in touch with us with any queries and questions as we will always be pleased to assist.
